SpringHill Suites Grand Rapids North

My stay itself had zero issues. I left my very expensive Bose headphones in the room while rushing out, and the front desk staff tracked them down and sent them back safe and sound. Shoutout to Will and Heather, I think? I had to take off a star, though. When I turned them on after they arrived, they tried to connect to "XXXs A14," which suggests someone paired them with their Galaxy A14 while they were in the hotel’s possession. Not cool. Maybe someone was trying to keep them until I called asking for them, but at least I got them back.

I loved the cozy room layout and the kitchenette, including the good-sized refrigerator. The bathroom was perfect for getting ready for my event, and breakfast was easy to manage in the morning. I was glad there were plenty of hangers, and being near the other door made it easy to bring my things in and out. The hotel is close to shopping, gas stations, and restaurants, yet still near Grand Rapids and close enough to Lake Michigan for a day trip. It was a comfortable, easy-to-access place to come back to. Thanks for a great stay.

The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and other things nearby. It’s a bit away from downtown, but that worked out well. The beds are comfortable, and the shower had great heat and water pressure. A couple of things bothered me. The “convenience stores” they run feel like a scam, with prices worse than even the worst gas stations. They seem to be ripping off their “guests.” They only offer Pepsi products, which I personally don’t like. Usually, offering just one brand means the vendor gives them an incentive, so the prices feel truly outrageous. Marriott also keeps pushing people to sign up for its loyalty program, with ads in the room and on the TV and reminders at check-in. The Wi-Fi is throttled so badly that you have to sign up to get even marginally better internet.

The hotel was quiet, and breakfast was really good. Shoutout to whoever cooked the bacon today! The front desk staff were always very nice and greeted us every time we came in. I’d definitely stay here again.
