Island Breeze Motel

We got exactly what we wanted at Island Breeze Motel, and the staff were the best of the many Wildwood hotels we’ve stayed at over the years. Check-in was smooth, and everyone was friendly. I got to know the two housekeepers, Selma and Natalie. It’s Selma’s first year and Natalie’s second, so go easy on these hardworking young ladies! The room had double beds that were not broken, a full-size fridge, bathroom, and a small kitchen area with cupboards, sink, microwave, and coffee pot. There was also a TV, dresser, hangers, chair, mirror, chairs outside the room, and a balcony to hang towels and swimsuits. It’s pet friendly, and there’s a pool with grills on site. Early checkout was easy too, just drop the keys in the box whenever you leave before the office opens, with no paperwork. Used my company discount. God willing, we’ll be back next year. This used to be a great hotel, but it doesn’t seem to be cared for anymore. We booked four rooms for a family trip, and most of us found things left by previous guests under the beds. Every room had the same problems: mold and mildew in the AC with a bad smell, and dirty bathrooms and tubs that didn’t feel safe for small children. I cleaned the AC as best I could myself and scrubbed the tub before putting my kids in it. We were only there a few days, so I thought we might be fine, but we became horribly sick with bacterial pneumonia. I called, but no one answered, and I never heard back. It’s a shame, but we won’t return.

The rooms are a little dated, but clean. It’s pet friendly and close to the boardwalk. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to wildwood.

I had a wonderful time here. The owner was very nice and checked that we were doing okay. It’s the best pet hotel, and the pool was really nice. The location was perfect. You also gave my dog my bag of bones.
