Hampton Inn & Suites Xenia Dayton

We’d happily stay here again. The staff were super nice and helpful, and our second-floor king room was clean, comfortable, and seemed new or recently renovated. Breakfast was a real spread, with waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit, and more. It was much better than the few basic options you get at some similarly priced places. We were passing through on a cross-country Thanksgiving trip and went to Yellow Springs for dinner. It’s a great little town, with a nice main street and plenty of local shops and restaurants. We walked around before and after eating. Around the hotel in Xenia there are lots of chain restaurants if you just want something quick, but we wanted to see somewhere more local. We forgot to take pictures of the room, though we did get one of the breakfast area.

We paid almost $500 for one night, though we’ll be getting the double charge on my card corrected by the weekend. The stay was bad enough already. My in-person reservation couldn’t be found on check-in day, and even though I’d specifically requested a large room with a fold-out couch, they first put us in a small room without one. The beds were unbearably uncomfortable. We finally got the larger room, but the indoor pool was freezing, so the kids couldn’t stay in it.

The room was nice and the hotel felt really clean. Brandon Love at the front desk was welcoming and very friendly. He understood that we were checking in late after traveling from out of state. We always stay here when we’re in town to visit family.

Mr. Brandon Love was kind and polite, and the front desk clerk was professional and attentive. The customer service was amazing. The shower, though, was very dirty, black, and still had hair from the previous guest.
