Sunbird Cape Cod Annex

We were satisfied with our two-night stay. The place was generally clean, staff were attentive, and both the indoor and outdoor pools are useful options for families with kids. The hot breakfast was quite good, and the breakfast staff were welcoming and friendly. I do think drinking water should be provided for guests. It was also unpleasant to see people cooking with a huge pot in the middle of the kids’ playground while loud music was playing. The strong smell of spices around the pool was a bit much for us. 😬

The outdoor areas were excellent and clearly well maintained, so the place has potential. The room, though, really brought down the stay. It was wet, musty and moldy, not just a little damp. The floor was slippery when we arrived, and was still bad after we came back from dinner and shopping. There didn’t seem to be any way to dry it. We opened a roll of paper towels and wiped it down, but they came away gross, so we wore shoes the whole time. The rooms need better humidity control and more care with cleaning.

The rooms were very small, with hardly any room to move, and ours had exposed wires in what they called the electrical system, a jumble stuffed behind the bed. The outdoor pool was dirty, and the indoor one wasn’t much better. Calling this place a resort because it has two pools that can’t be kept clean feels off. I wouldn’t recommend it. Service didn’t help. While my pancakes were being made, I picked through a handful of tea bags to decide which tea to have. Some random woman scolded me and told me to put them back. I explained I was choosing one and would return the others, and she replied with the most sarcastic “sure” I’ve ever heard. There was no ice machine, despite one being listed, and all the vending machines were out of order.

Our family had a really enjoyable three-day stay at Sunbird Cape Cod Resort. The room was comfortable, the atmosphere welcoming and relaxed, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We especially liked that both the indoor and outdoor pools were clean and fun, and we had a great time on the tennis and basketball courts. The grounds were well maintained, and the place clearly caters to families. I’d recommend it for a comfortable, fun family stay.
