We really enjoyed sleeping in the yurt. The family who runs the guesthouse is lovely, and the owner even invited us to sample some fruit from the big garden out back. Three kittens live outside and kept us company during our stay. There’s a little market by the school, about a 10-minute walk away, plus a few restaurants nearby.

Nika was kind and helpful, and arranged a driver for $70 to take us to the Aral museum and ship cemetery. We were comfortable in the yurt, and breakfast was okay for $3 per person. The shared toilet was the main issue: there’s only one for around four or five families, it was often occupied, and nobody emptied the overflowing waste bin. I pointed out that it was dirty, and she dealt with it promptly. That bathroom is why I’m giving a lower rating.

We spent one night in a yurt at this ordinary guesthouse. The hostess was really welcoming and showed us the other rooms in case we’d rather not stay in the yurt. She also let us pick berries from the garden, which was lovely.

The landlady was so kind and accommodating. I stayed here for two and a half weeks last summer, and it was a really nice place. I’d recommend it!
