Hidden Valley Villa

The house has a lovely water view, a roomy pool deck, a well-laid-out design, and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed and good appliances. A few fixes could have made this a five-star stay, but there were some major issues. It was advertised as air-conditioned, yet only the bedrooms had A/C. The living area stayed hot, making it uncomfortable to cook or gather in the evening. The mattresses felt old or cheap and weren't comfortable. Mosquitoes were everywhere, even with the doors and screens closed. I understand bugs come with the island, but this was too much. The pool never had enough water to reach the skimmers and stayed dirty the whole time, except for the one day the pool guy came. A running pump and attention to the small details inside would've made a big difference.

We had construction going on next door throughout our vacation, starting at 7 am every day, including Saturday and Sunday. The owners kept telling us the noise would stop, but it continued. Eventually we had to move out because of it and pay extra to rent another villa. When we left, the owners promised a prorated refund for the days we couldn't use the place, then changed their minds and refused to honor their word. We had to dispute the charge with the credit card company to get the money back. The company required the owners to issue the refund we were promised. We don't believe they were going to refund us otherwise. They were very untrustworthy. P.S. Do the owners post as jj below and comment on their own property?

We spent three great days here. The people were fabulous, the house was fabulous, and so were the views. Highly recommend it if you're visiting Saint Croix.

This place is awesome, and the view is beautiful. I bring all my girlfriends here when I can.
