Hong Chau Hotel

Moonmilk and Vinmart are right across the street, so the location is super convenient. My room was bright, cozy and clean, with a window looking out over the city. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed staying here, and it was definitely worth the money.

For a long stay, this can be a fantastic, economical option near the beach and tourist area, if you get a suitable room and don't mind doing the cleaning and daily housekeeping yourself. We booked directly with the owner and had a balcony room we could air out, with no smell. A friend in another room had a stuffy, smelly space that was a little moldy, so it seems to depend on which room you get. We had to deep clean ours before we could enjoy it: there was dust on the windows and headboard, mold on the clothes rack, and dirt and grime on the balcony. I'd suggest seeing the room first, checking whether it meets your standards, and making arrangements directly with the owners to improve your chances of moving in.

There’s a restaurant on the first floor, so I guess the cockroaches are hard to avoid. If sharing a room with them sounds fine to you, this place is perfect.

I arrived expecting to check into the room I'd booked, but the manager angrily texted that he'd given it to someone else and would cancel my booking. He offered no help, so I had to find somewhere else in a hurry. We also met another couple who'd had the same problem. The owner got very angry over text on Whatsapp and basically blamed me. A very rude person. I definitely wouldn't recommend booking here, since you may only find out your room's been given away and your reservation canceled when you arrive. There was no reception, so I initially took the public elevator upstairs and wandered around looking for the hotel elevator. Everything was dusty and the floors were disgusting. There was construction noise on the top floor. The public elevator went straight to rooms with small padlocks on their doors. If I'd stayed, I wouldn't have felt relaxed, since it seemed things could be stolen very easily.
