Maintenance has become a serious issue. For a serviced apartment, tenants are expected to pay for almost every repair, even basic things like broken lights, which defeats the point of paying a premium. Guest charges are also unreasonable. My sister is charged excessive fees even though she only visits sometimes on her day off. It feels exploitative and unwelcoming. I've rented at London Apartment in Hanoi since the pandemic and have watched the quality decline. I stayed even after the rent rose to 10 million VND for a bedroom apartment because I wanted to support the business, but it no longer feels worth it. Service has also been cut back. The two English-speaking receptionists left in early 2024 and were never replaced. Now there's only a security guard on site, and their limited communication skills make it hard to get help, especially in a building with local and foreign residents. For these prices, management and service fall well below standard. I'd advise people looking for a place in Hanoi to avoid it.
