Skyline Hanoi Hotel

I booked a city-view room, but the window looked onto local houses in a tucked-away alley. As a woman traveling alone, I found the setting a little unsettling. The hotel itself was run-down, and its name seems to copy that of a skyline lounge at a fancy hotel near the main road. I also found my Trip.com review listed as excellent even though I never wrote it. I don't know how that happened, but I felt completely cheated. Don't trust the reviews.

The room was comfortable, clean, and looked after well. KIN and the rest of the staff were very polite and helpful. The location was good, and I thought it was good value. I had a lovely stay and would honestly recommend it to travelers.

The location was the one real plus: in a small valley, fairly quiet, and about two blocks from the lake. The room, though, was old, the air conditioning and elevator barely worked, and the bed was only okay. It wasn't as advertised on Agoda and wasn't worth what we paid. For breakfast, the front desk woman sent us to another hotel and told us to go in on our own without notifying that hotel's reception. I felt embarrassed and wondered if they were taking advantage of us. Stay away.

I left my bags with the hotel for storage. When I came back, several valuable gifts were gone, and a dog had chewed the luggage and left urine stains. The smell was awful. Staff said they knew nothing and refused to take responsibility, even though I had entrusted the bags to them. I feel unlucky, but what else can I do? I've blacklisted this place and won't stay again. Anyone reading this should avoid it or risk regretting it. The room was cramped and run-down, the water pressure was weak, and sometimes there was no water for a long time. What kind of hotel is this?
