The location worked well for us. If a 30-40 minute walk doesn’t appeal, Grab is easy to install, and taxi rides can be around €3, depending on where you’re going. The room was comfortable and satisfying, and they cleaned it every day. Noise was the main downside: you can hear people in other rooms and the hallway. Service was okay, though if you bring food from somewhere else, they send you straight to your room. You can’t sit in the lobby to regroup or have a little chat.

The food was disappointing, too. Breakfast looked like it had plenty of options, but most dishes were too spicy or didn’t seem freshly made. The rice was clearly not fresh, and the crab soup was so hot that I started coughing after one spoonful. I’d stayed at Happy Life Green Hotel HCMC the previous year, but the standards had dropped noticeably within just one year, including the service, room upkeep, and food. As soon as I entered my room, I noticed a strong moldy smell. I reported it to reception and asked to switch rooms, but they said the hotel was fully booked. That didn’t seem right, since rooms were still available online, and they made no real effort to address the problem. The shower pressure was very weak, and the temperature swung between extremely hot and freezing cold. I hope the General Manager sees this and considers these issues for future improvement. This stay at Happy Life Green Hotel was far below expectations and not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend it in HCMC anymore.

Ridiculous. This was definitely not worth the money. The mattress was harder than a rock, the toilet wouldn’t flush at all, and the sheets were dirty. The floors looked like they’d never been cleaned, and the service was unfriendly. You can hear every whisper outside the door because there’s a huge gap at the top. The windows looked as if they’d never been cleaned either. The lock on the tiny balcony was broken, and when I opened the door, the handle came off in my hand. The area was noisy and dirty, with nothing to do. You can find cheaper hotels in district 1 with a better location and more comfort.

As a Genius Level 3 guest, I was upgraded to a VIP room at no extra charge. It was spacious, clean and well designed, and the bathroom felt new, with high-quality amenities. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, particularly An, Tuan, Quang & Minh.
