Language Exchange Hostel 2

I booked one night and ended up staying four. The place is clean and comfortable, and it's tucked into an alley among lots of locals, so the street noise doesn't reach it. It's within easy walking distance of everything in D1. Minh, the owner, is super friendly and goes out of her way to help. She knows the local food scene and things to do in HCMC, and can arrange tours or motorbike and car rentals. I don't get how people left such bad reviews. This place is awesome!

We got a booking confirmation at a good price, but when we arrived the owner spoke to me by phone through the receptionist and said she'd check the reservation. About ten minutes later, she called back to say there was a pricing problem and it would cost much more. I said that was too expensive for us, and she told us to find another hotel without trying to negotiate. Even at the cheapest price, we wouldn't want to stay there because the owner was unfriendly.

When I first got to HCMC in October 2019, I was grateful to find this place. Le Minh, the wonderful landlord, makes it feel like home and welcomes you like family. You can relax, be yourself, and do what makes you happy without judgment. There's a warm atmosphere and lots of cool people. Even during the tragic COVID-19 pandemic, I never felt alone. The customer service was five-star, 24/7. I'm grateful to Le Minh. Thanks so much, and cheers, Craig from Australia 😁 🍻

We'd paid a deposit for three beds reserved through HostelWorld, but when we arrived to check in, our beds had been given away. It was late at night, and many other hostels were already booked, which made the whole thing really frustrating.
