Phu Quoc Ocean Pearl Hotel

We booked seven nights and left after two. The hotel felt very dated, and the photos seemed to have been improved with AI. The bed was rock hard even with extra mattress toppers, and they told us all the beds were the same. The shower head came off the wall, but after we reported it, they made no effort to fix it or communicate with us. Getting in and out of the bath and shower was hazardous, with two tiers and water going everywhere around the rim. There was a smear of faeces on the bathroom wall; we complained, housekeeping came in, but it was still there. Breakfast was very limited if you don’t want Asian food. I ate only white toast each morning, and the coffee was awful. As English speakers, we found communication very difficult, and they didn’t try to find someone else or use an interpreter app. After we complained and found somewhere suitable, they refused to refund the five unused nights. Total fraud. Definitely not four-star.

The people were friendly, and there were lots of breakfast choices with local food combinations. Beach towels were available if needed. The rooms were okay, though they weren’t cleaned every day. We did get water and coffee each day.

I can’t describe how bad this hotel was. It felt more like a motel, and the photos and videos look fake, like they were made with AI. Don’t make the mistake of booking it for your family, you’ll be angry and completely dissatisfied. We’d stayed at vinholiday hotel for four days before this, and that was the best hotel.

We booked a four-island tour with Ocean Pearl tourism, and it was the worst. The guide was very bad, and they misled people about the services they had promised.
