The beach is about 1 km away, despite the beachfront listing. The rooms smell like cabbage, and the staff are stroppy and rude. During a power outage today, the generator powered the host quarters and restaurant, but not the guest rooms. When we asked when the electricity would return, we were brushed off. There are better places on the island at the same prices, so I wouldn’t recommend this at all. The hosts and accommodation put a real damper on what is otherwise a lovely place to be.

The location works well if you want restaurants and the beach nearby, with the city still 20 minutes away by scooter. That’s about the only upside. The room was clean and okay, but we knew it had no private bathroom. We hadn’t realized restaurant guests would share it too. When the restaurant was busy in the evening, people came in every couple of minutes and even entered our bedroom. Staff never cleaned the bathroom. The service deserves zero stars: they were very unfriendly, and when I asked for soap because it had run out, they laughed at me and did nothing.

I can’t comment on the bungalow, but the seafood was excellent. We had scallops, oysters, shrimp, and cobia fish. The papaya salad was *chef’s kiss*, and we loved the avocado ice cream too. One of the best meals I had in Phu Quoc.

We went to the restaurant several nights while staying at Phu Quoc Eco Lodge and really enjoyed the vegetarian choices and friendly atmosphere. The people running it were super friendly and very patient when language difficulties came up over the menu.

The restaurant at the accommodation is really good, and there are lots of other restaurants nearby. The stay was quiet, pleasant, and close to the beach. What’s not to like? Thank you.
