Sapa Odyssey Hostel

A quiet hostel that’s still near the shops, and that view is quite a thing to wake up to. Our room was clean, with six bunk beds, a balcony, and a shared bathroom. The price was great for the location and scenery, which could almost pass for a luxury hotel setting. One snag: the Hostelworld listing is outdated. There’s no pool table or foosball, and no tea or coffee facilities as advertised. I’d recommend it if you want somewhere calmer.

The balcony looks out over the valley, and it’s a handy place to set off trekking from. You’re about a 15-minute walk outside the main town, with shops and restaurants along the way and some nearby spots sharing the same view. The value was great: food and drinks were well priced, including a big Tiger beer for 20k. Beds were very comfortable, with a small bedside locker and a larger room locker, and they provided keys. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and tours and tickets can be booked at reception.

For the price, I didn’t expect such a great view, clean rooms, and comfortable bedding. The service was superb, and I can’t think of anything bad to say about this hotel. There’s no need to pay for an expensive hotel when this one has everything you need. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
