The balcony view over Port Elizabeth was fantastic, and I loved having a braai spot right there. There’s loads of room for family and friends, plus two toilets, which was handy. It felt safe and secure too. I’d definitely come back.

A clean, comfortable, reasonably priced halaal place in PE, with a well-equipped kitchen that works well for families. The bathrooms were clean, and the gates and remotes all worked properly. My one complaint is that there’s no housekeeping or cleaning help. Adding that would make a holiday stay easier.

It’s a tidy place, but the price makes the problems harder to overlook. The downstairs bedroom has damp, and the ground-floor shower couldn’t be used because of its showerhead. Upstairs, the ensuite toilet seat was cracked, which felt unhygienic and dangerous. There were no fresh towels or room service, and only single beds, so we had to push them together. That setup isn’t suitable for couples. It needs some work.

We keep coming back because we enjoy staying here, and it’s good value. The lodge is quiet, with security gates and parking in front, and there’s free Internet and DSTV. It’s convenient for family gatherings, a supermarket, fast food, and a roadhouse, while Taqwa Mosque is about a five-minute drive away. There’s even a park next door for children. Inside, there’s a huge kitchen and lounge, plenty of bedrooms, roomy rooms, separate toilets and bathrooms, and a lovely view. The kitchen has what we need, including a fridge, microwave, stove, iron and ironing board. It’s fully halaal accommodation, and a lovely place for families.
