Harbour House Hotel - Harbour Square

The location is nice, but the basics let this place down. There were really loud noises in the bedrooms all night. We had to change rooms halfway through our second night, but couldn't reach reception, which is in another building. At midnight, my wife and I ended up out on the street trying to find someone to sort it out. Don't stay here.

We were a family of 11, and Harbour House Hotel made a perfect last week of our holiday. Hermanus gets crowded at peak times, so having the hotel's central location and what felt like the best view in town was wonderful. It's across a small road from the ocean, with incredible views. Kevin Masson, the manager, is a constant presence who sets the tone: personable, very helpful, and backed by exemplary staff. Everyone was professional, helpful and smiling. Breakfast by the pool was included and wonderful, and lunch was available there too if we wanted it. The rooms were clean and well equipped. We had a room in the Manor House with a hot tub, a studio across the road, and a Deluxe double in the "New" building. All were excellent.

Room NW20 had a nice view and was comfortable. The location and service were great, the pool decent, and there were good breakfast options. I also hadn't expected the room to have pretty much a full kitchen. Very good hotel.

Everything is within walking distance, and there are a variety of restaurants nearby with stunning views. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, and housekeeping was right on the mark. I found the breakfast standard and limited, despite all the praise it gets. The Wi-Fi cut off because, apparently, it renews monthly. Maybe a calendar reminder would help avoid that. The Margarita recipe needs work, it wasn't great. Also, please remind staff to keep things a bit quieter in the morning. On holiday, you really want to sleep in a little.
