Garrett Guest House

The owner was really friendly and helpful, and all in all we had a nice stay. The rooms are decent, the beds comfortable, and there's a fridge in each room, so bring your own coffee, sugar and milk. The bathroom is open, though there's a communal shower down the hall. Each room has an outside door and a small braai area. There's also a bar and smoking sections. Parking is gated, with an alarm system around the property.

The bedroom didn't look like the pictures online, and the washing basin was blocked. We had to give an hour's notice for hot water so they could switch on the geyser, but even then it was always lukewarm. We also found out on our first morning that breakfast wasn't included, which surprised us. A noisy generator woke us up and ruined any chance of a peaceful morning. Outside, the neglected feel continued: the pool was dilapidated and the garden unattended. The dogs barked loudly and intimidatingly, so we didn't feel able to explore the grounds. From arrival onward, we felt more like intruders than welcome guests. We were so disappointed that we left a day early. It wasn't the relaxing getaway we hoped for. Book at your own risk.

I had a fabulous stay, 100000/10. The rooms were absolutely stunning and the service was fantastic. The owner and his daughter are lovely people, friendly and helpful, and the service I received was more than sufficient. It was worth the price without a doubt, better than most luxury hotels. I'd recommend this B&B above all the others in the area.

Garrett was an extremely accommodating host who went above and beyond for the guests. The spacious rooms are well maintained, and the bathrooms are modern and clean. Great place for the price, and a lovely experience overall.
