Huserl Im Wald

The location was really nice, but the room was basic and the bed was basically a couch with a mattress. Service also dragged, especially after our guests arrived, when it took ages to get the first drink. By then, several dishes we’d ordered were no longer available.

We were given a huge apartment instead of an ordinary room, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is near a tram stop, about a 13-minute walk away, with a direct ride to the city center and no transfers. There’s also a forest nearby, and the parking is great. Very convenient. I’d love to come back and recommend the place!

The food was fairly standard, though the setting among the forests was quite pretty. The waiter seemed a little brusque while taking our order, as if they were very sure of their customers. He said we could pay at the table, but seemed to prefer us to pay at the desk. That would normally be fine, but our host was a sprightly 90-year-old man with a walking cane. The waiter could have been more considerate. We didn’t get even a small smile from him, and he led the way indoors to the desk at quite a pace.

The room was comfortable, just small, and the place was nice and quiet with plenty of free parking on site. Dinner let things down. We went down the road to Kern Bakery for an excellent breakfast instead of eating at the hotel.
