Hotel Abendrot by Alpeffect Hotels

The room was nice, the beds comfortable, and everything was clean during my stay from 12/2-19/2. All the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Breakfast was decent, though nothing special. Dinner was a very unpleasant part of the visit. The five courses included an appetizer, self-serve soup and baguette, a main, and dessert. One evening, what was called “risotto with shrimps” was just three little piles of bland rice porridge with a shrimp on top. We were also served beef tartare that had turned brown. The baguettes were the best part of dinner. I'm really not exaggerating.

The location made the week so easy: right in the town centre, a few minutes from the main lift, shops, restaurants, ski rentals and après-ski, but away from noisy bars. Coming down the mountain, the nearest slope is only a two-minute walk from the hotel. Ask reception for a hotel guest pass before buying lift passes, as it gets you an extra discount. We stayed for a lovely week over Christmas. The food and service were great, and thanks to Emil, Christian, Rasmus and the team for looking after us. Dinner is a three-course menu with self-serve soup and bread each evening. The menu changes daily; it didn't always look especially appealing, but it was delicious every time. Breakfast is self-serve and has a good range, including sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and other things. Compliments to the chef! Our room was a good size for two and comfortable, with a balcony and lots of natural light. The bed was on the soft side, which suited us. There was also a TV, desk, small fridge, sofa, small table and two chairs, plus a robe, slippers and bottled water. The sauna area was bigger than it looked in the pictures. It's open daily from 2pm-8pm; when we went one evening, we had it to ourselves. There's a lift and ski room too. Five stars for this three-star hotel. We'd happily stay again.

A short walk from the town centre, the chalet sits between the A1 and A3 lifts, both about five minutes away. The finish is nice, the beds are comfy, and the shower is hot and powerful. Even the bath was big enough for my enormous frame to sit in comfortably, which I haven't managed for years.

Mandy and her team were always around to help make our week at Abendrot Chalet, Ischgl with Ski Total as enjoyable as possible, and they delivered. The whole team's service was friendly and professional, from management and the bar and restaurant staff to housekeeping and the reps. A couple of small issues at the start were sorted quickly and efficiently, and nothing felt like too much trouble. We're on our way back to Innsbruck after a perfect week.
