Larcherhof

The room was clean and warm, with a comfy bed and a new shower room. Breakfast tasted good, and the owners were friendly. There’s parking outside and underground, plus a big drying room for ski gear. Nice location, too.

We had a really cosy apartment for our week at Larcherhof Garni during the winter holidays, and it was lovely to relax there in the afternoons after skiing. Fresh rolls can be ordered for delivery to the apartment in the morning. The skibus stop is just around the corner, making it easy to reach the Horbergbahn, and there’s a huge ski equipment drying room in the basement. Our host, family Eberharter, were very nice and helpful. I’d be happy to stay here again when I return to Mayerhofen.

The best part of our stay was the hospitality from family Eberharter. Their personal attention gave the family-run hotel a real “home sweet home” feel. The bus stops right outside Larcherhof, with a ride of about 20 minutes to Penken or Ahorn and 10 minutes to Horbergbahn. There’s also a large drying room for ski gear in the basement. We were there for a week of skiing, from 29.12.13 to 05.01.14, and had a spacious, clean double room with a very comfortable bed and pillows, a large balcony, and a lovely mountain view. The hotel itself is clean and has a welcoming alpine atmosphere. We only had bed and breakfast. There’s no lunch or dinner at the pension, but you can get drinks at the bar. Breakfast included milk and yoghurt from local farms and cheese from the hotel’s own cheese farm. If you love dairy products, ErlebnisSennerei is worth a visit. It’s like a supermarket for dairy from local Zillertal farms, and also has alpine herb teas and home decorations. Highly recommend!
