Quest Mounts Bay Road

The team were friendly and made check-in smooth, and parking was manageable with free options in the evening. For work travel, I found the location handy, only a short drive from the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and the laundry service and dishwasher were especially practical for a longer stay. It was a pleasant, relaxing place to return to after work and good value for money. I’d consider staying again on another trip.

The staff were the highlight for me. Each time I came back, they greeted me warmly and made me feel at home and appreciated. The Vietnamese restaurant on the ground floor was handy too, serving both food and coffee whenever I wanted a meal or drink. It’s right by Jacob’s Ladder up to Kings Park, which made walks and sightseeing easy. The gym is small, but has enough equipment for basic exercise. I used the treadmill and indoor bicycle to keep up my routine. I’d happily stay here again.

For our 5 night stay, I was told on arrival that the 1 bed apartment we’d booked was flooded and unavailable for one night, so we were downgraded to a studio. I was also charged an 18 transaction fee, and Quest charges a 1.51% transaction fee on debit cards. They offered breakfast as compensation, valued at $45 for the two of us, but it didn’t feel like enough for the downgrade. The restaurant was a Vietnamese banh mi Cafe with very friendly staff, but the fire alarm led to an evacuation of the Quest building. When we returned, our breakfast was cold. I couldn’t really start my holiday until I unpacked the next day in the apartment I’d originally booked. It felt like a night and a day were wasted. Quest talks about service and making guests feel good, but I didn’t feel valued as a guest or a Quest member. Housekeeping took our towels without replacing them and didn’t replenish the laundry or washing liquids. Reception gave us replacements when I asked. I wouldn’t feel comfortable returning to Quest Mount Bay. I can honestly say the apartments are better than the studios.

It was a great stay, with well equipped rooms and great service. The location is really close to King’s Park.
