Tinaroo Lake Resort

The best things were the comfortable beds, lovely views and excellent location. We were able to cook in the kitchen, which served its purpose. But the apartment was very disappointing for $1400 for four nights. It smelled unpleasant when we arrived, and seemed to have had a quick clean. Dead flies and bugs were still on most window sills, and the pantry shelves were disgusting. The place felt extremely outdated and worn. There was mould throughout the shower caulking, and one tap kept leaking. There was no outdoor furniture on the main bedroom balcony, so we carried some over from the other balcony, though that furniture was very uncomfortable. The old sofas felt dirty and had stains throughout. I understand investing in property can be hard in the current financial crisis, but guests paying this much deserve care and respect. I don’t know if there’s other accommodation in Tinaroo, but sadly I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The location is great, but for the price I expected a lot more. The bathrooms had mould, the curtains were broken, and the lounge was so old and saggy that you sank into it without support. The bedroom TV didn’t work, the sliding door was coming off its hinges, and the skylight was full of bugs. I usually stay somewhere half the price and much nicer. I’ve never stayed at a resort before, and if this is what it’s like, I wouldn’t stay again. There’s no smoking anywhere on the property, so you have to stand out on the road. I’m not sure I’d recommend it, especially at the higher end of the price scale.

Kylie and her team took great care of our wedding. No request was too hard, and the rooms, reception venue and service were all amazing.
