I was going to leave it alone, but the owner has just abused me for giving the place 5/10 on Booking.com. The room was okay, with a good location but not many amenities. We had serious trouble getting the shower to work and got no help figuring it out. I wouldn’t normally bother posting here, but the way I was treated after leaving my rating made me want to share this. It’s an average B&B in a good location, and the owner doesn’t take constructive feedback well. Be aware when booking: Hans doesn’t like feedback unless it’s positive. I want to warn others.

The owner let us check in early and keep our bags in the lobby after checkout, so we could spend a couple more hours out before heading to our next location. We really appreciated that. My partner and I had a wonderful stay at B&B Maison de la Rose. The room was comfortable, and the full-sized tub was lovely after a long day walking around the old city. The owner also gave us some absolutely spot-on tips for food and avoiding tourist traps. There’s a fantastic little deli next door that you have to try, too!

My spouse and I had an amazing time here. It’s a truly unique place, with a beautiful, charming and authentic room that was clean, too. The host was incredibly polite and friendly. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Hans greeted us at the door with a city map and his own suggestions. The room was beautifully decorated to a high standard and conveniently located. We’re already planning another trip to Brugge, and we’ll stay here again.

We got bitten by mosquitoes quite a bit, and that was the only downside. Otherwise, the hosts do an astounding job. The place is centrally located, beautifully decorated, and comes with great suggestions for where to eat and what to do. Brugge itself has exactly the kind of European villa feel you picture when you think of that sort of experience. What an amazing place to stay.
