Hotel Rose Red

The receptionist was amazing, and the rooms were small but clean. The restaurant was what let the whole stay down. The waitress was rude and only greeted people she knew. The service was awful. We visited on 25th Dec 2025.

Now called the Rose Red Hotel, it was very clean and we had a good experience. The food was good too, and the room was quite a good size.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the photos gave us a helpful idea of what to expect. It was basic rather than fancy or modern, but that didn’t bother us. We’d definitely stay again. Our multi bed family room was different from others we’ve stayed in, though we didn’t mind, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly, let us leave our bags before check in, and even poured us a beer while they were opening the bar, despite all the tables being reserved. It’s also a great base for walking around the city.

The bar is extremely well stocked if you’re into Belgian beer. The hotel has everything you need, it’s clean, and the staff are delightful. Right in the centre, the location is perfect. It’s a 2 Star hotel, so the rooms aren’t enormous, and fitting yourself into the bathroom can feel like a bit of a Tetris puzzle, but I highly recommend it.
