Pillows City Hotel Brussels Centre

I came to Brussels on my own for a work conference at ULB over the weekend, and arrived a couple of days early to explore. This is the sort of hotel I’d happily come back to on purpose. I want to return to Brussels with my wife and spend three or four nights here while we explore the city. The location made getting around easy: it’s a five-minute walk from train stations and the Grand Place, so we could do plenty of sightseeing without long taxi rides. The shower was ridiculously enjoyable. There were welcome chocolates, a Nespresso machine with pods, and complimentary Aqua Panna bottles in the room. Breakfast was amazing, with two great coffee machines and a spread fit for kings. The front desk, restaurant, and rest of the team were caring, professional, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The whole experience had comfort, class, quality, and a cosy, elegant feel without that cold, showy kind of luxury. If I could give it six stars, I would. It’s a no-brainer and great value.

It was a quiet, clean place to relax, and we mainly used it to sleep during our city trip. The beds were comfortable, and there was a lovely lavender smell throughout. Gar Centraale and several other spots were within walking distance. Being close to the train station also made it easy for us to visit Brugge and Ghent. I gave it 4 stars because of the man who greeted us and checked us in on the first day. I felt his way of speaking to us was a bit racist, and I didn’t like it. Still, thank you for everything.

The room was a delight, with a plush king-sized bed, extra comfortable pillows, and a spacious bathroom stocked with quality toiletries: body lotion, hand cream, soap, conditioner, and shampoo. There was also plenty of room and furniture for working, plus a mini fridge, espresso machine, safe, and smart TV. We got a lovely welcome gift, too. The staff were professional and hospitable, and the reception desk was always staffed, making check-in smooth. They gave us a useful city map and great suggestions for exploring Brussels. We could also leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was handy. Rym and Imane deserve a special thank you for going the extra mile and making our stay memorable. We only stayed one night but were thoroughly impressed. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer, and we’re looking forward to coming back. We may also check out other properties in their group.

As someone who travels to Brussels for work often and used to live here, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was comfortable and cool, with a proper desk, a good shower, a wardrobe, and all the essentials. It’s a little less luxurious than some similarly rated competitors closer to Grand Place, but the practical setup and the polite, friendly staff more than make up for that. Breakfast was nice too. I’m very likely to return.
