RentByNight - Apartments

The apartment was under a club, with loud music and people making noise late into the night, so sleeping was impossible. I hadn't been told at check-in that the accommodation was 400 meters from the place where I arrived. The building is very old, the doors are hard to open, and the elevator is cramped. Inside, I found a claustrophobic-sized bathroom, dirty dishes, a spider, and a TV with no signal. The hot water ran out suddenly while I was showering, leaving icy water, so the other person couldn't shower in hot water. Then the electricity went out in the apartment. I contacted someone for help and was told a person would come the next morning to fix things, but nobody showed up. The owners also wouldn't agree to return the money. I feel cheated and very disappointed, and staying under those conditions felt humiliating. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

A woman appeared around 11pm while we were unpacking. The stairways were so steep that we couldn't bring our luggage to the private apartments, and we weren't done unpacking yet, but she became agitated when she saw our things. Some people were already asleep, and she was loud and extremely rude. I understand there are rules, but she could have calmly explained that the area was off limits and shown more patience while we were handling huge suitcases on our Euro trip. The place isn't convenient if you're travelling with elders, kids, or lots of luggage, and after her attitude I'd rather pay for an expensive hotel than deal with that kind of behaviour. I would never recommend her place.

The location is great, but that's about the only positive. The apartment needs serious repairs: there was water damage on the floors and walls, paint chips and cracks throughout, and the bathroom smelled of mold. Noise insulation was practically nonexistent, and the hosts were apathetic. From around 8pm, people upstairs talked loudly while their kids screamed and ran around. It was so disruptive that the window curtain poles shook. Signs ask guests to keep noise down because the walls are thin, but the neighbours didn't. I messaged the host, who contacted them but wouldn't do more because it was still early, even though it was almost 10:30pm. We knocked too, with no answer. We ended up booking a nearby hotel for the rest of our stay. We don't recommend staying here.

The flat's location doesn't match what was stated online, and the old place feels like a waste of money. A pub downstairs draws crowds, and the thin, old windows and doors let in every outside noise. One key opens both front doors and the flat. There was only enough hot water for one person to shower. The kitchen dishes, microwave, and toaster were dirty. The electrical sockets were torn out and the power had gone because the plugs blew. There were spiders in the flat, and the TV had no signal. I advise everyone against booking here.
