The poolside BBQ was a lovely touch. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, in a great spot for exploring the region. The on-site staff were very friendly. Bring bug spray, and be ready for an unpaved drive in that can be rough in places.

The Mango Villa was perfect for our honeymoon, with incredible landscaping and a peaceful atmosphere. Catherine was thoughtful and helpful, keeping an eye on the weather and road access for us, and even got us a bottle of champagne. This is a great fit if you want to spend the day adventuring and return to a quiet place instead of a busy resort. It worked perfectly for us, and we’ll be back. I’d recommend a 4x4 or SUV. I’m writing this before checkout because I didn’t want to forget to review such a spectacular stay.

Nello checked us in and looked after us throughout our visit. He’s a real asset, and the people an owner hires say a lot. Everything was immaculate, from the grounds and pool to the rooms, which had all we needed. The poolside BBQ was very nice, too. There are only three lovely units, so there’s plenty of privacy. The hike down to the falls takes about 20 minutes, and it’s very steep, but worth it. Mountain Pine Ridge is a beautiful location, about an hour and 20 minutes by car from Caracol. The roads have been graded pretty well now. San Ignacio is around 45 minutes away, with the Botanical Gardens, Cahel Pech, Farmers Market, Xunantunich, and more. We booked four days and could happily have stayed two weeks. Nicest place we’ve stayed in Belize.

The amenities, building design, and layout of the property were the big win for us. It was comfortable, quiet, and so relaxing. Big Rock Falls and hiking trails are nearby, and it’s closer to Caracol. Andrew and Eli, the on-site caretakers, were great, and the owners were flexible when we made a booking mistake. Absolutely amazing, we could live here all year. We’ll definitely return.
