I’m still waiting for my $50 deposit, three weeks after my stay. I’ve contacted the hotel several times and keep being told it’ll be processed “tomorrow,” but it still hasn’t happened. I even emailed a screenshot of the payment. This lack of follow-up is really frustrating. I hope management sorts it out and refunds the deposit promptly.

What makes the King Edward Hotel stand out is its downtown Banff location. You’re right in the middle of everything, but even on a Saturday night I didn’t find it loud. The staff were friendly and knew the area well, and we’d happily stay again. Our Queen room was clean and had the basic hotel amenities. The bed was quite hard for my taste, though if you like a firmer mattress, you may find it just right. There aren’t luxury extras like hot tubs or breakfast, but with so much to do in Banff, that wasn’t a problem for us.

I spent a few weeks here recently and found it very good. Housekeeping came daily, and the staff were friendly. The rooms were a reasonable size with adequate amenities. The hotel is right in the heart of Banff, close to the pubs and places to eat, as well as public transport. I’d give it 4/5.

I was really grateful to be allowed into my room hours before the scheduled check-in time. Customer service gets a 10/10 from me. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown, which was perfect. I stayed near the end of October, and the lack of air conditioning wasn’t an issue at all because they have heaters.

Some of the negative reviews shouldn’t put you off. I got free secure parking in a nearby lot, with my own space waiting for me, so I didn’t have to hunt for parking after a day out. There’s no air conditioning, but they tell you that, and the two fans were enough to keep my room comfortable. You’re right in the middle of Banff, close to everything. I loved my stay and will book here again.
