The room could have been a bit cleaner, though for the price I was happy. Unfortunately, my medication was stolen from the room. I take my ADHD medication and the painkillers I’d recently been given for work every day. I didn’t realize gabapentin was something people might steal, since I know very little about prescription medication and don’t take it often. When I reported it at the front desk, they asked where I’d last left it, and I told them exactly where I keep it. Later, when I spoke to a manager, she said the housekeeper remembered seeing it in that same spot when they’d asked me earlier. I’m calling the police tomorrow.

The room wasn’t clean enough. The microwave handle was sticky, so I had to clean it before using it, and there was a snack wrapper under the bed. The bathtub and sink drains were both so slow that water backed up. Around 10:20 pm, I could clearly hear loud noise from what sounded like a banquet or karaoke event in my room. I called the front desk, but they didn’t offer to move me somewhere quieter or take effective action about the noise. My employer booked this stay. I’ll report what happened and strongly recommend that our staff no longer stay here. This visit didn’t meet basic standards for cleanliness, comfort, or service.

I chose this place partly because I wanted to use the pool and hot tub during my month long stay, but they were drained and apparently won’t open again. The attached restaurant is closed too, and there’s no breakfast in the morning, so the amenities are very limited. I booked a room a month before starting my 13 hour drive to Fort McMurray. Halfway through the drive, I called to double check and was told they’d given my room away because I hadn’t confirmed my arrival, even though I’d said I was driving 13 hours and would be there. They made me pay the higher room rate instead. I’m very disappointed and upset.

I’ve been here for work for about a week and a half, and the sawing and cutting tools have been going all week. They’re doing construction on all three levels, with holes in the drywall along the hallways. I asked the front desk to move me, but they hadn’t mentioned the work. The staff seemed nice, but when I asked about the noise and how it could be reduced, they suggested I get earplugs. The construction crew has been rude and inconsiderate to guests. If you want somewhere to rest or sleep, this isn’t it.
