The staff were great, and the pool was okay, though smaller than I expected after all the excitement my travel companions made about it. The mini fridge didn’t work. My partner found the mattress lumpy and had trouble sleeping.

The pool slide was a hit with the kids after a long competition day. It’s shallow and on the small side, so not for serious swimming, but there were plenty of giggles and splashing. Their bunk bed hideaway was an instant adventure, and the room itself was spotless and laid out smartly. The beds were comfortable, the sheets fresh, and the details felt looked after. Breakfast was hot and fresh, just the kind of road-trip fuel a family needs. No fancy food, but it did the job well. What really made the stay was the kindness. Cindy on the night shift at the front desk was cheerful and genuinely sweet, and made our tired family feel welcome. The room attendants all smiled and said hello. The breakfast attendant seemed to be having a rough morning, but we’ve all been there. We wound up at the Super 8 in Windsor because every room in the Valley was booked for the Irish Dance competition. We didn’t expect much, but this place delivered more than I’d assumed. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and this one is solid: clean, friendly, and functional. There’s some peeling paint around the pool and the carpets have clearly been around a while, but nothing about the place needs to be fancy. The price was the odd part. It felt like Halifax city rates in Windsor, which seemed off, though we got a bit of a deal. One small request for management: please settle on one bulb temperature in the rooms. Having 5000K daylight bulbs beside 3000K warm ones makes it feel like a spa and a science lab arguing.

The service was horrible. Their system for the $100 hold wasn’t working properly, and they wouldn’t check in my 12-year-old and her mother after they’d traveled six hours. The room had already been paid in full, but they were still going to turn them away and demanded $200 by debit. That would have left them short on cash for their two-day trip.

We paid 283.00$ in October for a room that looked stuck in the 80s. The popcorn-textured walls were stained, and there were nasty marks all over the carpet. The bathroom was cringe-worthy. We’d stayed at three other hotels in Nova Scotia that week, all clean and under 170.00$. Definitely drive a bit farther. Never again!

The pool was clean and the slide was neat, but the cost was outrageous for the hotel. There were cobwebs in the room and dried pee beside the toilet, and the fridge didn’t work. At the front desk, the employee got frustrated easily, was confusing, and wouldn’t help us as customers.
