We loved our stay and will definitely come back. We were here for a ski trip to KickingHorse, and the hotel had a heated gear room with boot hangers and ski storage. There’s Nespresso coffee and tea available on the ground floor anytime, and our spacious room even had a hidden Nespresso machine. The beds were comfortable, and the hot tub was great. The sauna looked amazing too. Breakfast had everything we needed: yoghurt, milk, cereal, bread, and fruit. Thanks for having us!

Winston Lodge was our favorite of the three nice places we stayed during our Banff area trip. Rowan, the general manager, was one of the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff we’ve ever met, and reservations and communication before arrival were excellent. It’s a cozy ski resort beside a large resort with a chair lift and gondola. Our room was spacious, the bathroom met expectations, and we used the new outdoor hot tub every night. The bed worked well for this old guy with a bad back. The light breakfast had several options, plus coffee and tea.

The peaceful setting near nature was a real plus, and the room was decent. But with no air conditioning, it got uncomfortable in warm weather. At around CAD 500 a night, I expected much more from breakfast too. It was listed as included, but what we got was extremely sparse. I even noticed a guest bringing their own eggs and cream cheese. Arriving was stressful. Reception shuts at 7 PM, but that wasn't made clear, and I had no instructions for getting in or finding my key when I arrived later. The entrance needed a code I hadn't been given, so I kept knocking until another guest let me in. The quiet location has potential, but poor communication, the breakfast, and the lack of basic comfort made the stay disappointing for the price.

We had a great Christmas ski holiday here with my wife and a few friends. The gear room is huge and great for drying ski equipment, and the sauna and hot tub have a wonderful atmosphere. The lifts are only a short walk away. Winston Lodge is a great place to stay for skiing, and I'd book again without hesitation. It also has a great name.

Dinner at the bistro was a highlight, with outstanding food for the price and a lively but intimate feel. It works well for an evening meal or just hanging out. The Winston Lodge has recently been renovated and feels warm and inviting. It's a quick six-minute walk to the gondola, and the staff were genuinely welcoming. After skiing, the hot tub and sauna were a lovely way to unwind. I'd recommend it for a ski trip or a relaxing mountain getaway.
