Mount Kidd Manor at Kananaskis

We stayed in the Mt.Kidd loft room with our two kids, and they loved the upstairs loft and giant in suite Jacuzzi. The room was spacious and quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the mountain views were beautiful. It had no a/c, but the ceiling fan kept things surprisingly comfortable. Some furniture looked a little dated, though that didn't bother us much since we spent about 90% of our time outdoors. The area is beautiful to explore, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. We also loved the pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and sauna. The kids especially enjoyed the water slides and the fun, kid themed decor in the pool room. There was a pretty decent playground outside for them too. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

I read some of the comments and wasn't sure about coming, but then figured people were just complaining. I thought the staff and owner probably worked hard and deserved appreciation. I paid 200 and got my money's worth. It was an amazing stay.

We had a really good weekend and will definitely return. Our room was a bit dated, but the bed was comfy and the balcony was massive. There are lovely walking trails right from the building, plus a water feature you can stroll around. We could also use the pool and spa in a building across from Mount Kidd Manor. There are a few restaurants to choose from and some little shops too.

The Nordic Spa was amazing and worth every penny. We went on Sunday when it wasn't busy, and the staff there were phenomenal. I'd recommend spending 2-4 hours. Dinner at Woody's was really good too, with friendly service even when the place got very busy, and great music from the DJ. The spa, service and food made this a perfect mini honeymoon, even though the room itself felt very minimal. The front desk guy was nice and checked us in quickly. We stayed at Mt.Kidd for about $200 through Expedia. I'd hoped to upgrade to the kananaskis lodge for our mini honeymoon, but the extra $300 was too much, so we stayed put. The room was outdated and freezing when we arrived, but after a nap and some time with the heater on, it warmed up.
