B&B La Marquise de Bassano / B&B Québec

Susanna and Pedro were wonderful hosts, and we had a great time talking with the other guests. A few of us surprised Susanna by speaking her native Italian. We stayed in Room 1, which had a private bathroom, and only wished it hadn't been winter so we could use the balcony. The B&B is close enough to walk to the Christmas Market and other sights. We'll stay again next trip.

The staff were lovely, breakfast was fantastic, and it was great value in a handy spot at the top of the city, close to everything but just beyond the busy crowds. The old building's room was nice and spacious, and the B&B itself is quaint. There isn't anywhere to unpack, so expect to use your suitcase. If you want air conditioning, be ready to leave the curtains open all night since there are no blinds. I like a cold, dark room, and had to settle for cold. Otherwise, no complaints.

This was our second stay. The B&B is in the old town among lots of other hotels and B&Bs, in a very touristy area. The room had a hippie art collection and some odd furnishings. Getting around our room was awkward because a huge chair sat in the doorway. The shared bathroom was clean and nice, with a great shower. Breakfast was good and served family style, but there weren't enough seats for everyone, so people ended up waiting while you ate. The hostess helped us arrange car and bicycle parking for an extra charge.

In the centre of Old Quebec City, this historic building was a great place to stay. Susana welcomed us and was helpful the whole time. Our rooms were spotless and comfortable, and we enjoyed the tasty morning breakfast. It was also convenient for getting to the main attractions.
