The location made it easy to walk to downtown Smithers, restaurants, two grocery stores, and the local museum. Owners and staff were so welcoming that the place felt warm and homey. My room was spacious, with a very comfy bed, and the whole inn was exceptionally clean and peaceful, great for unwinding after a long day. Breakfast is complimentary, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which worked well for business travel. I also liked having complimentary pantry supplies available anytime, including coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, plus cold water, milk, orange juice, and coffee creamer in the fridge. I had a wonderful stay at the Stork Nest Inn.

The breakfast was something we looked forward to every morning, with eggs made how you like them, plus sausages, hash browns, and pancakes. It was also easy to head downtown on foot for dinner, and there are plenty of trails nearby on Hudson Bay Mtn. The Inn made a great base for our adventures. Its clean, well-designed rooms have pine panelling that gives them a cabin-like smell every time you walk in. The people running the place were kind and accommodating, and it felt like coming home each night. We loved our stay at the Stork Nest Inn and will definitely return.

Breakfast was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in went smoothly, and we had a very quiet night in a clean, freshly updated room. The location was great too, within walking distance of lots of good restaurants and shops. The one downside was the bed: it was hard and uncomfortable, and better beds and pillows would make this place perfect. I still slept great, though. There aren't many in-room amenities, like a hair dryer, microwave, or clock, but some toiletries are available.

They sent me off with an eggs-any-style breakfast, and treated me well from my first call right through to saying goodbye. I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing a three-star review, but this turned out to be a great place to stay. Thanks to everyone I met and spoke with. I'll stay here again next time I'm travelling in the area.

I was alone and ate one breakfast, but they still refused to return the $15 extra guest fee. The manager at the hotel where I stayed the next night thought the story sounded made up because it was so ridiculous. Here's what happened: Expedia defaulted the booking to two guests per room, which is completely normal and often advised for safety, even if you're travelling alone. This hotel charges extra when there is more than one person in a room, saying it's to cover breakfast, so breakfast apparently isn't included. I even offered to let them take Expedia's commission out of the refund. They still said they didn't care and would keep the fee, and blamed me for using Expedia. If they don't like Expedia, they shouldn't accept its bookings or take it out on customers. It felt like theft. If a bank accidentally gave you $1,000 when you withdrew $100, you couldn't just keep the extra without facing theft charges. I told them the $15 wasn't worth a one-star review and a dispute with the credit card company. Just unbelievable.
