Florence Motel

Easy to reach from the main highway through town, and it was still quiet at night. The service was good, and there’s a key drop box for the morning. My room had a kitchenette I didn’t need, though it could suit someone staying long term. Basically, it’s a room with a bed and shower.

I paid $150 when I stopped and rented a room, then saw it was $98 on Expedia. The shower drain barely seems to be more than decoration since the water doesn’t drain, and the floor was dirty enough that I kept my shoes on. For $150 on a Sunday evening, I expected a lot more. I can’t recommend it.

A good place for a solo motorcycle rider to stop, rest, and sleep. It has what you need for business on the road, though I could have used some hangers for my jacket and leather gear. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

I was nervous about staying in a motel, but after driving from Seattle, this was one of the few places along our route to Alaska. The building looks just like the picture, and our room was clean, very nice, and seemed recently updated. The renovation is simple, but it made the room look good. The front desk staff were amazing about answering questions and helping us. I booked by phone without any trouble, and when we arrived a little after midnight, I called to let him know. He stayed up so we could sign the papers before leaving early in the morning. It’s dog friendly, with grassy spots for walking the pups. If we’re in the area again, I’d definitely stay here.
