Le Couvent Val-Morin

The view was beautiful when we went there for Christmas. Walking around, we spotted fresh deer tracks and other animals running about.

Every time I leave this simple space, I feel grateful and inspired. Le couvent feels like a gift, a place to come home when you need a moment. The floors seem full of wisdom and kindness, and the sunlight reaches every room. The nature around it reminds me there’s something bigger than us. The owner is sincere and open-hearted, someone who builds community with the emotional steadiness of an adult and the playful joy of a child. The vegetarian meals are thoughtful and high quality. There’s a kind of magic in the walls, if you trust it.

There’s a special, peaceful feeling in this beautiful place. It’s just right for retreats, or maybe for spending a little time on your own too?!

We held a small wedding at the Couvent, and it was perfect for us. There are clear, reasonable noise rules because the Couvent is close to neighbors and beside a lake, so you need a group that will respect them. That worked out just right for us.
