BEWARE, this was a terrible place and completely unacceptable. The room smelled, looked nothing like the pictures, and was as cold inside as outdoors. There was a window right above the bed, taped to the ceiling, with a hole letting rain in. I contacted the property straight away to ask for a refund, and they suggested using the AC. I left immediately. Room 62, DO NOT BOOK!

The apartment was clean from top to bottom, and the service responded promptly. I booked through Airbnb. It’s close to the main train station, bars, and restaurants, and the kitchen has what you need, along with complimentary tea and a Nespresso-style machine. There was activity in the red light district area until sunrise, so bring earplugs. If you’re arriving by car, Parking des Alpes is a good option, one street over.

The concierge was helpful and quick to respond, and the location near the train station was very convenient. I stayed in both top-floor rooms, 61 and 62, and liked them both. Room 61 is the smaller studio, with a gorgeous, huge renovated bathroom and tub. Room 62 has a smaller bathroom and much more living space. Both have charming roof-level balconies with views, and there were nice extra space heaters for winter.

The place is basic but has what you need, and it’s very clean and well cared for. The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. You can walk easily or take transport, and the lake is only minutes away. It is in the red light district, with many sex workers, but no one bothers you. I imagine it gets noisy in high season.

For such an expensive town, the price here is really good. The hotel is cozy, right in the middle of Geneva, and the staff are very nice. I strongly recommend it if you want to visit without spending a fortune on a hotel. Just be aware it’s next to the red light district.
