Le Montbrillant Hôtel Residence

I don’t recommend this place. I only asked whether I could take my luggage, which I’d left for a couple of hours and could see right in front of me, or whether I had to wait for my turn. The man at the desk spoke to me almost aggressively, then started talking about me to another customer. My taxi was already waiting outside, but I accepted the situation and waited without asking again. When my turn came, he began arguing with me again, like an old teacher having a bad day. It’s not okay to treat someone that way just for asking a question.

After spending three nights here, I’ve changed my mind about the evening room service I complained about when I arrived. The room is lovely, the staff have been very helpful, and the location is brilliant. Breakfast is good too, especially the eggs.

Being right beside the station was a real plus, and the reception team were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice, though a bit dated. Breakfast let us down. On days two and three there was no bacon; on day three the sausages were limp, there were no plates or pastries, the tables hadn’t been cleared, and the tea water was lukewarm. Still, the location was a win.

We’d requested an early check-in, but when we arrived the blonde woman at the front desk was very unfriendly and snapped at us when we asked questions. She said, “I cannot call him and ask him to leave,” then added, “you can check my screen if you want.” It felt unnecessarily rude. A polite explanation that our room wasn’t ready would have been enough, but instead we were left feeling unwelcome.
