The hotel is magnificent, down to the carefully chosen details, and the cleanliness was impeccable. I’m grateful to everyone who helped make my stay such a warm, memorable experience. Mr. David handled my reservation with great professionalism despite being busy, and Mr. Pablo Pizarro, the General Manager, was outstandingly professional too. Thank you to the whole efficient, kind reception team led by Kevin, the head leader. The concierge team gave us excellent advice and helped plan a perfect program, especially the assistant to the chief concierge. Thanks as well to the breakfast and restaurant team, particularly Youssef and Rudy, and to the doormen and security agents. And last but not least, Khadija, for her warm smile and helpful advice. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

The service was top notch in every category, and they even let us check in quite early. Beyond that, it wasn’t worth the price and fell far short of a five-star stay. The rooms were extremely dated, with very small bathrooms and many expected toiletries missing, like a razor and floss. The thermostat looked decades old, there were no plugs on one side of the bed, and the TV was just propped against the wall. Early in the morning, construction noise woke us up as workers replaced door handles in every room on our floor. I’ve stayed at many other five-star hotels with much more modern rooms and amenities for half the cost.

I stayed here 37 years ago, and I’d happily come back again. It’s an older hotel, but it’s been renovated nicely and still feels luxurious, especially if you like a prestigious place to stay. The rooms are roomy, clean, and well furnished, with a partial lake view. The concierge can help park your car for a fee, which is a real plus in Geneva.

The staff were consistently friendly and professional, and they honored my request for a room without carpet. The lobby is impressive, but the rest of my stay didn’t match that first impression. My lake-view room was cold, and the heating controls were hard to adjust. When I called, the staff member had to work out how they functioned too, which wasted time and left me frustrated. The room’s phone and TV remote also felt clunky and outdated, and the whole space seemed tired rather than premium. The bathroom surfaces and walls were still dirty, and there was no toothbrush. The Wi-Fi password was changed the next day without notice. The toilets are very low, which could be uncomfortable for older guests. Dinner at the Lebanese restaurant was a letdown. The food was bland, and the rice was much too greasy. I also couldn’t use the sauna without booking a massage, which felt like an upsell rather than a proper wellness amenity. With the room condition, housekeeping, old technology, food, and sauna restriction, the price and reputation felt like an expensive façade. The excellent service and glamorous entrance couldn’t make up for it.
