Hotel Adriatica

The people are what make the Adriatica such a great hotel. Mme Christine was an angel, hurrying to get our laundry done and putting out tasty, healthy breakfasts. She also made omelettes and great cappuccinos. Everyone's kindness and warmth made a really difficult time more tolerable, because a family member was receiving care at the nearby University Hospital. The hotel itself is comfortable. Our first reason for being in Geneva was a sad one, but if we return, we'd stay at the Adriatica again.

The rooms are very large, although the carpet had a bit of an old smell. Breakfast was good and offered plenty of variety, but the bakery quality could be better. The staff were all very friendly, especially Mr Antonio, who really tries to make you feel at home. The decor dates from the 70's, but the hotel is kept in good shape. For Geneva, the price and quality work out well.

There's a family-run, artisanal feel throughout, which made a refreshing change from anything corporate. The place has a vintage style, but it's well maintained and very clean. Nice small touches include toiletries, room air conditioning, good Wi-Fi and an EV charger in the garage. Breakfast was very good too.

I've been here twice in the past month and plan to come back in a couple of weeks. The rooms are spacious, clean, well furnished and have an old-world charm. It's not a fancy or glitzy place, but a fantastic three-star hotel. If being by the lake or having a restaurant and bar in the hotel aren't things you need, it's well worth considering.
