Rainbow Lodge HK - Hostel

This was my second hostel stay with friends, and it was great. It’s close to the city center, with the metro just a 30-second walk away. The staff are nice, the environment feels safe, and there are small safes. Get an Octopus card when you check in. It’s basically free, and you get your money back when you return it at checkout. You can book a room with 8 or 10 beds, and the prices are reasonable. A good way to see central Hong Kong for a few days. It can get loud with people coming and going, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re a light sleeper. The elevators are small, too, and the building has 14 floors.

The location is very central, and the hostel is clean and reasonably priced. It gives you just enough space to rest and keep your things, plus there’s a cozy common room where people hang out. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and I met a lot of cool people, which isn’t common in other hostels around here. For a hostel in Hong Kong, this one is really nice.

The hostel is compact, but I found that made it cozy and helped people connect. The staff were lovely and helpful, and even took us to cool places to visit and eat. Rooms were clean, there’s a laundry machine and enough showers for everyone. The location is great, with an easy trip to and from the airport and central Hong Kong. Strongly recommend!

If you get a bed at the other branch, you’re not so lucky. They only tell you after you arrive. The Wi-Fi is very slow, the showers and toilets are extremely tiny, among the smallest I’ve ever seen, and there’s only one sofa. The common area isn’t good, so there’s no community. The main branch is very nice, though. It has two dorms, a pleasant common area, and big, good bathrooms. Hope you get the good one!
