I had a really nice stay at the Medellin Backpacker Hostel. It was clean, laid-back, and very quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean too. The dorms got pretty hot and humid at night, though, and the showers felt a bit small. Still, I enjoyed being here.

The upstairs lounge is comfortable and looks out over the streets, and I really liked the roomy kitchen for making meals. It’s in a very quiet area, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A very nice hostel.

This is a modern hostel in a handy location, and the kitchen and gas showers are up to date, work well, and are kept clean. The pots and pans could be better quality. Since the place is compact, hallway and reception noise carries, though it’s not very social, so things stay relatively quiet. The staff could be warmer. There are cameras all over, and they seem to watch your every move. That may suit some people, but it gave me a bit of a “surveillance-state” feeling.

The private room was great, and they have plenty of beds for larger groups too. The place is incredibly clean and organized, including the bathroom and showers, which are cleaned twice a day. There’s a small kitchen with lots of pots and pans, plus local shops nearby if you’d rather not cook. Guests come from Europe and other parts of South and Central America. Security is clearly a priority: there are cameras, and they take care to keep your belongings safe while you’re out exploring Medellin. The owner sometimes stops by to check that everyone is doing well. The streets are busy because it’s in the city near the Museum District, though the hostel itself is quite quiet. Thanks for looking after us and for suggesting places to visit. We’ll definitely recommend it to our friends. Clean: 5 stars Safe: 5 stars Friendly staff: 5 stars Quiet: 4 stars Location: 5 stars

I tried several hostels before finding this one, and for me it’s the best in Medellin. The beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms and showers are always clean, and there’s hot water and toilet paper, which you can’t take for granted. The kitchen stays tidy and has everything you need. The terrace is lovely and quiet, a great place to work remotely, and laundry is cheap and done in less than 24 hours. It’s a two-minute walk to the metro and the shopping center with a movie theater. Felipe, Ana and Alba welcome you with a smile and make you feel at home.
