Ibis Styles Frankfurt City Hotel

I paid €37 per night, down from the expected €50 after using points as an ALL Rewards program member. That felt very reasonable for the stay, and even the original price would have been fair. I can recommend this ibis for a short Frankfurt visit if you want to be near Frankfurt Main Train Station, as long as you keep in mind the basic comfort and the loud, sketchy neighborhood. The hotel itself was fine overall. Check-in was fast and easy, and staff were generally okay. A daytime worker was very sweet, while some others simply did their job without being friendly. A couple of nights before arrival I’d requested a high floor with as much natural light as possible, and they gave me that. My Standard Room with 2 single beds (#606) on the 6th floor was clean, in good condition, spacious enough for one person, with a simple, neat design and mostly fine furniture. I liked the large window, which opened all the way for fresh air. The beds were tiny and not very comfortable. Pushed together, they kept separating and leaving a gap, and the mattress was just okay. There was a small refrigerator, kettle, and a box of teas and coffees. The closet was tiny, just one little section, but the luggage bench beside it was useful. The bathroom was small, though the big, deep bathtub was great. Bathroom amenities were basic and smelled just okay. Wi-Fi was fast and worked well. The elevator was tiny and slow, barely fitting 3 people, and sometimes I waited a few minutes. The central location is handy: Frankfurt Main Train Station is a few blocks away, about 5 minutes on foot, and the main Promenade in the heart of town takes around 12 minutes to walk to. The neighborhood was the downside. There were many homeless people around the station, and the area got loud every night until early morning with bars, clubs, and brothels. Drunk people were extremely noisy, and I could hear them clearly through my open window from the 6th floor. Night security also seemed lacking. During my stay, one small guy covered the front desk overnight, spent much of the time on his phone, and barely noticed guests coming in.

It was okay, and the price was good, but the room disappointed me. I usually book Ibis or Ibis styles and expected more when I chose Styles. Go in expecting a regular Ibis.

The lobby has an attractive layout, and the rooms are more spacious than at typical Ibis hotels. There’s a hot water kettle and tea bags, and luggage storage is possible for early or late check-in and checkout. The hotel is very close to Frankfurt Railway station, about 400mtrs away. Reception staff were courteous, and Umesh and the rest of the team were very nice and diligent. They serve breakfast only, with no lunch or dinner.

We were very satisfied. The hotel upgraded us to 2-BR, it’s very near the train station, and there’s Asian food nearby. The main tourist spots in Frankfurt are also just a walk away. What more could I ask for?
