Hood House

The rooms are nice, though the bed felt a bit too soft. The construction site right beside the hotel gets going around 6:30 in the morning, so expect to be woken up then. I stayed three days and the room wasn't cleaned once, and the towels weren't changed either. I guess there isn't room service.

The studio apartments were clean, comfortable and in a pleasant part of Hamburg. There are a couple of supermarkets close by, plus several cafes and restaurants within a 2 to 15 minute walk. I’d recommend staying here. I was on a work trip, though, so I don’t know what it costs.

Getting around from here was easy, with several bus routes nearby and the metro about a 10-minute walk away. Winterhude's sights and restaurants are also within walking distance. There’s a REWE next door, a Danish café and a good Indian restaurant on the ground floor, and a gym just steps away. The apartments feel cozy, are nicely decorated and have a well-equipped kitchen. Little extras like coffee pods and tea made the welcome feel thoughtful. Staff have been consistently kind and professional, and the service has been excellent. One of the best locations in Hamburg. Highly recommended.

The hotel is new and pleasant, but it still doesn't feel finished. There were no curtains in the rooms, so I woke up at 6 every day. Breakfast is handled by the Copenhagen coffee bar rather than the hotel. For 20 euros, you get a plate with scrambled eggs, cheap cheese and ham, one croissant, a tiny serving of yogurt, a small bread, one coffee and bottled juice. It's not a buffet. I'd skip it and go to Rewe or a nearby coffee bar instead.
