Hotel Heidelberg

I had to cancel because a guest was hospitalized, and I gave the hotel over a week’s notice. The other hotels I’d booked and Le Shuttle all refunded me, but this hotel refused. NEVER pay them in advance.

We had warm, comfortable, quiet rooms, and breakfast was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful too. The hotel is just outside Heidelberg, so we avoided emission charges, with free parking and a tram stop 50m away that goes straight to the old town. I’d strongly recommend it.

The homemade waffles at breakfast were a real highlight, and the staff were lovely, helpful, and spoke English. It’s an old-style hotel, but you can tell it’s well cared for. Our bathroom was clean, though a bit smelly, and the room window didn’t have big curtains. It’s a nice place if you’re driving: parking is free, and the city centre is a short drive away.

Breakfast was AMAZING, with loads of pastries and spreads, meats and cheeses, plus hot sausage and eggs, and plenty of tea, coffee, and juice. The room was clean, spacious, and very bright. We had a double bed and sofa bed, all comfortable, with great pillows, clean sheets, plenty of towels, and a really nice bathroom with a big sink and easy-to-use shower. Check-out was easy too. It was simple to find after we rented a car at Stuttgart airport, and the friendly receptionist showed us the room, gave us Heidelberg maps, and explained public transport. The tram station nearby goes straight to Old Town Heidelberg, shopping and stuff. The hotel is near a main road but far enough away that it wasn’t loud at night. It was a great experience, and I’ll take my family back.
