Steffis Hostel Heidelberg

I needed an invoice months after my stay, and they replied quickly and sorted it out. The staff are very friendly and ready to help. Would definitely recommend!

I went with my dad, and we had a fantastic stay at this hidden gem. It was clean, comfortable and affordable, in one of Germany’s most beautiful areas. Arne knew the area well and gave us great tips for hikes, restaurants and historic sights. His advice was so useful that we added another day to enjoy Heidelberg. It was our favorite part of the trip to Germany. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. You can borrow bicycles with a refundable deposit, which made it easy to ride around and enjoy the views. Shops and restaurants are close by, and booking the room was easy. It was easy to relax there, too. I’ll stay here every time I visit Heidelberg.

I locked myself out around 11 pm one night after leaving my key in the room, with no roommate inside. I called the staff member, and she arrived in just five minutes. I’m forever grateful she saved my 🍑. I stayed two nights on a short trip to Baden-Württemberg. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beds, bathrooms and toilets were clean. For a hostel this size, the communal kitchen fridge didn’t smell that bad.

The main drawback for me was having no outlet near the top bunk, which made charging my phone awkward. An outlet and maybe a little shelf up there would help. I skipped breakfast because 8 EUR felt like a lot for a basic vegan meal, so I bought food at the supermarket for a third of the price. The hostel itself was great. The staff welcomed me right away and helped me plan things to do in Heidelburg. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the main station, and the old town is about 30 minutes on foot, or around 10 minutes by bus or tram. The common room was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the rooms spacious. Lockers were a good size, and the shower rooms were clean. I’d definitely stay again.
