The staff were helpful and friendly, and the street was peaceful while still being easy to reach by public transport. Marienplatz is only a four-minute walk away, so the location is excellent. I’d recommend Hotel an der Opera if you need somewhere to stay in Munich.

The room was pretty basic, and the bathroom was hot with an odd layout. We were told breakfast came with the stay, but then got charged 40 for food and 15 for drinks each day for two people. There are clearly other places to choose from nearby, so choose carefully.

The rooms are a good size for a small boutique hotel, and you’re close to everything. It’s hard to beat the location, less than a five-minute walk to Marienplatz, which was handy for our visit to the Christmas markets.

Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of fresh local and international choices. Getting to the main sights was easy, and the hotel still felt like a quiet break from the busy city. My room was spacious, very clean, and nicely put together, with all the comforts I wanted. The bed was so comfortable, and I appreciated the good toiletries and welcome treats. The service was warm, professional, and attentive without hovering from the moment I arrived. I stayed here on a trip to Munich and thought it earned all five stars. It went beyond what I expected, and I’d gladly come back. A great choice for either work or a holiday.

The room was fine, though the bed felt small for a tall person and the shower-bath setup was awkward. Breakfast was basic but okay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent, within walking distance of lots of attractions, a tram stop, and the hop-on hop-off.
