Hilton Munich City

The hotel was a great choice for my four-night work trip. There’s public transport right underneath, good grocery stores nearby, plenty of food options, and Marienplatz and the museums are an easy walk away. My street-facing room stayed surprisingly quiet, and it was clean, warm even with snow outside, and had a comfortable bed. I slept really well. Breakfast was fresh, well prepared, and had so many choices that there’d be something for anyone. I also liked the ground-floor bar more than expected, a good place to relax in the evening. The practical gym was a nice extra. I had a really pleasant stay and would definitely return next time I’m in the city.

The downstairs restaurant's breakfast was seriously amazing, and we liked it more than the decent little happy hour and breakfast at the executive lounge. Everyone on staff was helpful and nice. The location is hard to beat: an elevator takes you indoors to the train, just one stop from Marienplatz and the Christmas Markets we enjoyed. Across the street, Aldi had some of the cheapest wines and beers I’ve ever seen, and they were surprisingly tasty. We stayed at the Hilton Munich City in Mid-December, really enjoyed it, and would definitely stay again.

The staff were kind and professional, and check-in and checkout were quick and hassle-free. My room was clean and functional, a decent place to rest without anything especially impressive. The lounge was a nice place to sit for a while, with quality about what you’d expect. The weak point was the bar. For a hotel of this caliber I expected more, but the cocktails were only okay at best, without the balance or quality I wanted in an evening drink. The people were great, though.

The King Courtyard room was quiet and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked reliably during my four nights at Hilton Munich City. I’d asked for a tower fan before check-in and the Reservations team confirmed it, but it wasn’t in the room. Luckily, floor supervisor Rogers was there and brought one right away when I asked. Thanks Rogers! The metro is right under the hotel and in front at Rosenheimer Platz, and the Haidhausen area felt local, a nice oasis from chaotic Aldstadt. Most staff were nice. One front desk agent seemed annoyed and didn’t smile when I asked a question, but that shouldn’t put you off booking. I’d stay again.
