Hotel Biederstein am Englischen Garten

I stayed two nights on a business trip and would definitely return. It’s a small, owner-led hotel, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was really good, and you can eat in the breakfast room or outside on the terrace beside the gardens. There weren’t many amenities beyond free newspapers and a reading or waiting area behind reception, but what was offered was very good quality.

We had two young children with us, and the two bedroom suite worked perfectly. Having a door that separated the sleeping area made a big difference. We were on the first floor, with direct access to the patio and green space. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The street was very quiet, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was great too, half a block from the English Gardens and about 5-10 min from the Metro.

This small hotel has a cozy, personal feel, and I had a very pleasant stay. My room even had a balcony overlooking the inner yard. Breakfast was great, and when the weather allows, you can eat outside in the little courtyard. The staff were very friendly. It’s beautifully located next to the English Garden, a bit farther from the city center. You can walk through the park to get there, though it’s a longer route, or take the metro from nearby.

Breakfast was fantastic, with a high-quality spread of meats, cheeses, fresh breads, juices, coffee, teas, jams, different kinds of honey, granolas, and yogurts. A lovely smiling woman offered to cook an egg. We left stuffed and didn’t need lunch until well into the afternoon. The courtyard was cute, and in warmer weather it looked like breakfast could be eaten on the patio. The mattresses were sooo comfy, very firm and supportive, and the rooms were very clean. I loved being so close to the Englischen Garten and spent my mornings walking there. It’s about a ten minute walk to the U-Bahn, and we felt safe going that way at night. The front desk staff were friendly and eager to help us enjoy Munich. We stayed 23-26 Oct 2024. The bathroom arrangement wasn’t ideal: I thought it would connect the rooms, but I had to walk through my friend’s room or out into the hallway to get to it. We worked it out, though, and this little hotel is a gem.
