Tulip Inn München Messe

For a business trip, it’s a decent, cheap hotel. The rooms seem fairly new and are nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The carpets were the weirdest I’ve ever seen, in a bad way. Also, be ready for every space apart from the lobby to look like the backrooms.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. It is a little way from the center, though that wasn’t a problem since buses and the metro run every ten minutes and the hotel is well connected. I’d happily recommend it.

The one staff encounter that soured things was on our first day: a young blonde man was grumpy with us, turned us away when we asked for coffee at the cafe, then served people who came in five minutes later. Aside from that, we found the hotel very clean, and the room was tidied daily. There’s no kettle or fridge in the room, which would have made the stay much better. We’d been wary because the price was reasonable and the hotel wasn’t central, but a bus stop is only a four-minute walk away and you can transfer to the tram for an easy trip into town. No need to spend a lot on a hotel in the center.

We couldn’t get shower gel because the room supply had run out. Room service should have replaced it, but didn’t, and reception said they couldn’t help. The reception staff were unsupportive and didn’t seem to know how to assist customers. Really poor service.
